“The internet has given audiences much more power than ever before.” To what extent do you agree with this statement?

Introduction:

I believe that the internet has actually given the audience a lot of power and has increased over a period of time I n this couple of time. Also, I believe that the internet makes the audience more powerful. This is because it is behind a screen and people are able to hack which means they can figure out other personal information and it can threat other innocent people in many ways and can also make them furious and might retaliate.

Music industry:

The thing that has happen to the music industry is that since the internet has come about the music platform has change magnificently. For example, more and more by day have moved to YouTube and other platform like spotify, soundcloud and also audio mac. Also, some people over the past few days have downloaded music illegally for free music. This is because it is more convenient for them because it loads instantly. Also, the internet has bank crupt some businesses in the music industry because of the internet. Also, has taken away some peoples jobs.

Advantages due to the internet to the music industry are minimal amount of production value is need making “ self-publicising” simple and it's easier to promote material. Consumers have more variety and choice to discover new upcoming artist which they aren't forced to listen to producers releases.

due to the internet to Film and TV are it is accessible 24 hours and “binge-watching” has replace traditional appointment to view format. Also more choice and variety on film and TV which doesn't make it restricted to just TV and cinema.

Disadvantages due to the internet to Film and TV are the cost of subscription ties consumers in for periods of time and some apps giving free films and TV might be illegal or could contain malware which would make the audience worried or livid. Also exclusives could be owed by other companies and release take time to be produced.

Print  has changed due to the internet as there has been an increase in online news which is occasionally free. A surge in citizen journalism where anyone can become a report news. This have led to more frequent updates for the news as prints are usually outdated and can be very detrimental to the environment as prints can be thrown causing litter. Also there are more sources to gain information. Advantages is that it instantly goes online and its convience is also free to the audience and it is easier to get into.

In conclusion the internet has given people a lot of of power and has not given a restriction of what you can do and that people have been able to access other peoples personal information and this have put a lot of in danger which can also make them upset or angry and make them take revenge. Also this is illegal.
