LR Task

Doctor Strange

1) List the companies involved in the creation of Doctor Strange. The companies are Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. Marvel 2) What is conglomerate ownership and how does it link to Doctor Strange? It is linked because it is made by Marvel Studio and they are also owned by Disney. 3) Who regulates the film industry in the UK? British  Board of  Film  Classification (BBFC) 4) What age rating was Doctor Strange given? Why? It's PG-13 for sci-fi violence and action throughout, and an intense crash sequence and that really undersells it. Doctor Strange 12a because of fantasy violence.  5) How was Doctor Strange promoted to an audience? List at least three different methods used by the film's marketing campaign. Trailer, posters and also interviews with the stars of the movie. Specific TV campaigns with Tv-only clips shown Marvel released prelude 6) Analyse the film trailer for Doctor Strange. E.g. men, women, teenagers etc. This is stetted  in south London they are teenagers  on a rooftop which are most likely not up to good. 2) Are there any  stereotypes  you can identify? The stereotypes for the this movie is that they are up to not good and that they are all troublemakers and are dangerous to society. 3) What is the  preferred  reading of this poster? The preferred reading for this poster is that they are apart of a dangerous group which could be causing harm to there surroundings. 4) What is the  oppositional  reading of this poster? The oppostional reading for this is that they out not dangerous and they are just out to play a game Extension : What does this poster suggest about British society?  It suggests that people who are not british white are part of gangs.

1) What is independent cinema and how is it different to Hollywood blockbusters? The film was a independant cinema and it was different to hollywood blockbusters because the budget is much lower and also it has a less fan base then for example marvel films. 2) What is I, Daniel Blake about? I, Daniel Blake is about a person who works as a carpenter and is after not able to work, even though he was diagnosis he was forced to work because the authorities denied him. 3) Who directed I, Daniel Blake and why is this important?
